first class facility, third world thinking

hah! it must've caught u guys by not a surprise. but its us. that's msia. the third world thinking, and say, hey, we're just as good as the 1st world people. think again. to have that mentality, it just denotes us that we're from a third world population, with third world mindset.

well, looky here now, why do i say we're all (okay, some might oppose this, even me, well, mostly all) malaysians are thinking of something of a third world thing. how this mentality works? simple, first world thinking is more like you develop something, from a very limited input into a very high end desired output. a small idea to make a big nice, well maintained tourist spot, for instance. third world thinks BIG, but big from one perspective, one angle. as for the tourist spot thing, they just think of getting people to go there, and raking in the money. how about maintainence? how about services? welfare? and the list goes on. so after some period of time, the tourist spot might just die of, as, workers might runaway from it due to low welfare responsibility from the employers, poorly maintained waste management system, daa daa daa. so there's not long lasting thing there.
third world thinking is about thinking big, more sorta dreaming big. its okay to dream, think big, but make sure it goes in a more wholistic approach. i mean if can, all. professionals are encouraged (more likely required) to think big and in a way of an analytical judgement, so they can enhance their productivity and all. that's basically a first world thinking. but in malaysia, we're bound by our own limitations, and that is, the feeling of being and asian. believe me, it may be indirect, or we might not know it, but being an asian could make a person feels inferior to the world, as when it comes to the economy or business and the likes, we tend to reach out to the more dominant or powerful than us. we do fight, resist to raise our business empire, that's just a fraction of the first world mentality.
so how do we evaluate it again? or should i ask the correct answer, how do i define first world thinking and third world thinking? hmmm.... its a food for thought there, as after all, we're made for success rite?

the same goes to definition of modernity or modern civilisation. modernisation tends to bend towards westernisation of a populace, with economic, political as well social factors are taken into consideration. westernisation of an asian country sounds ironic and unjust, but what about modernisation? or can we assimilate modernisation into our ancestral, asian culture? ( and not to assimilate our customs and cultures into the word modernisation)
if we are able to do so, definitely we are a first world country, with first world facility, and first world thinking. best example: japan. next best example for a wester country: germany
united states? nah... they're too western.

us right now? still in the third world thinking and mentality. simple, the system sucks. change it.

  • well said... 3rd world mentality...

    - because politicians like to act like they appreciated tradition but in reality fuck them up...

    - because of existence of people who said the westeners are kafir... so be it... telah Allah halalkan jual beli tetapi mengharamkan riba... nak beli barangan israel pun silakanla... dlm hadith Rasullullah bersabda - dan Allah melaknat mereka yg menutup pintu rezeki orang lain...

    - because there are too many lickers... kaki bodek ramai sgt dgn alasan nak survive... campak pasir baru tau...

    - because politicians think they did the best for us but in reality lame manifesto... they seek for utopia and ideal not for improvement... like what criticize by that fella, what his name again, beckham or somethin...
